Who can refer a child for therapy services?
Anyone!
When is it time to schedule an evaluation?
It is never too early to conduct an evaluation. We will provide you with information outlining appropriate developmental milestones.
Can I be in the room with my child for their evaluation?
Absolutely! We encourage all family members to participate including grandparents.
Can I be involved in my child’s therapy sessions?
YES! We will meet with you before and after every session, or email you in the event that you are unable to be present. Involving family members in therapy is a vital part of therapy’s success. We will train caregivers so they can be empowered to affect positive change toward their child's communication progress.
How often and for how long will my child receive services?
Every child develops at their own pace. At our initial evaluation, we will create a plan of care for your child’s specific needs.
What does your socialization programs look like?
We pair children into small groups to practice social pragmatic skills. These include working and playing together and having reciprocal conversations. Group size can range from 2-6 peers, depending on their needs.
What ages do you service?
At SK, we provide treatment to children from birth to 21 years of age.
